Cookie Policy and Related Technologies
INFORMATION ABOUT THE COOKIE POLICY
Due to the entry into force of the amendment to the “Law on Information Society Services” (LSSICE), established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the explicit consent of users of all websites that use non-essential cookies before they browse them.
What are cookies?
Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies, or pixels are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the proper functioning of the site.
By using these devices, the web server can remember certain data about the user, such as their preferences for viewing pages on that server, username and password, the products or services that interest them most, etc.
Cookies affected by the regulation and exempt cookies
According to the EU directive, cookies that require the user’s informed consent are analytics, advertising, and affiliate cookies. Technical cookies and those necessary for the operation of the website or for the provision of services expressly requested by the user are exempt.
What types of cookies exist?
ACCORDING TO PURPOSE
Technical and functional cookies: These allow users to browse a website, platform, or application and use the various options or services available on it.
Analytical cookies: These enable the entity responsible for them to monitor and analyze the behavior of users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through these cookies is used to measure website, application, or platform activity and to create browsing profiles of users, in order to introduce improvements based on usage analysis.
Advertising cookies: These allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of advertising spaces that the publisher may have included on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as edited content or the frequency with which ads are displayed.
Behavioral advertising cookies: These collect information about users’ preferences and personal choices (retargeting) to enable the most efficient management of advertising spaces that the publisher may have included on this website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided.
Social cookies: These are set by social media platforms on the services to allow you to share content with your friends and networks. Social media platforms can track your online activity outside of the Services. This may affect the content and messages you see on other services you visit.
Affiliate cookies: These allow tracking of visits from other websites with which the website has an affiliation agreement (affiliate companies).
Security cookies: These store encrypted information to prevent data stored in them from being vulnerable to malicious attacks by third parties.
ACCORDING TO OWNERSHIP
First-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s device from a computer or domain managed by the website’s publisher and from which the requested service is provided.
Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s device from a computer or domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes data obtained through cookies.
ACCORDING TO RETENTION PERIOD
Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website.
Persistent cookies: These are those in which data remain stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie’s controller, which may range from a few minutes to several years.
